"The last will be first, and the first will be last" (Matthew 20:16).
This is the reversal of the world's values. This is grace - not works.
The way in which grace reaches us is through Christ's death and
resurrection (Matthew 20:17-19). When we hear the Gospel - Jesus "came
to serve and gave His life as a ransom for many people" (Matthew 20:28),
our eyes are opened to see who Jesus really is and to understand what
He has done for us, and we follow Him (Matthew 20:34).
