Only What The Lord Tells Me

"The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, “Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably.” 14 But Micaiah said, “As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what the Lord tells me.”" (1 Kings 22:13-14).
From the heart of the Old Testament, here's a call to be faithful in speaking the Word of the Lord. There's a choice to be made - Will we speak only what our hearers want us to say? or Will we speak the Word of the Lord? We may be under pressure to give people what they want to hear - but, still, the call comes to us from God: Give them what they need to hear - and not only what they want to hear!
