Hallelujah! Each of the final five Psalms begins and ends with the word,
“Hallelujah!” Again and again, in these Psalms, we hear the call to
praise God: “Praise the Lord, my soul!” (Psalm 146:1), “Praise the Lord,
Jerusalem! Praise your God, Zion!” (Psalm 147:12). “Praise the Lord
from the heavens,Praise Him in the heights above” (Psalm 148:1). “Sing a
new song to the Lord. Sing His praise in the assembly of godly people”
(Psalm 149:1). “Let everything that breathes praise the Lord” (Psalm
150:6). This outburst of triumphant and glorious praise, in these final
five Psalms, is a fitting conclusion to the book of Psalms. Hallelujah!
