Psalm 119 is a personal prayer of devotion to the Lord. It is clear,
throughout this Psalm, that our relationship with God is maintained as
we build our lives upon his written Word. What blessing the Word of God
has brought into the life of the Psalmist! This is still the way of
blessing today - “Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my
faith” (Psalm 119:105). It is with the Word of God at the heart of our
life that we face the future with confidence: “My hope is based on Your
Word” (Psalm 119:147).
