Mainstream - I want to be in the mainstream of the Holy Spirit's flow.

The best thing I can tell you is God loves you.

"He who observes the wind will not sow, and  he who regards the clouds will not reap" (Ecclesiastes 11:4). "I have loved you with an everlasting love" (Jeremiah 31:3). Like everything else in our world, the weather can be so changeable.  The love of God is unchanged, unchanging and unchangeable. What's so different about God's love? His love is eternal love. It's not something that comes and goes. He doesn't blow hot and cold. He loves us in life's rainy days as well as its sunny days. How do we know that God loves us? - The answer to our question is Jesus - especially the fact that Jesus died for us. --- As I was thinking about the love of God and the death of Jesus, our Saviour, I started thinking of a song which says, "The best thing I can tell you is God loves you." Here are two versions of it -  The Best by Dion - YouTube  and Dion DiMucci "The Best" - YouTube . The first video concentrates on the ...

In the Old Testament, we read of Israel being brought close to the Lord -  "... Israel, the people close to his heart" (Psalm 148:14). In the New Testament, we read of both Jews and Gentiles being brought close to the Lord -  "He came and preached peace  to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.   18  For through him we both have access  to the Father  by one Spirit" (Ephesians 2:17-18) .  We give thanks to God for what he has done for Israel - but we  do not think only of what he has done for Israel. We look beyond what he has done for Israel - and we give thanks for what he has done for all nations. His love is not only for Israel. It's for people of every nation. As I was thinking about this - God has done great things for Israel, and he has done great things for us, I remembered the words of a song that I haven't heard for years -  " It is no secret what God can do, w hat he's done for others, h e'll do for...

Lord, help us to be faithful to You ...

" But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance,  11  persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me  at Antioch,  at Iconium,  at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And  out of  them  all the Lord delivered me.  12  Yes, and  all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.  13  But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.  14  But you must  continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned  them ,   15  and that from childhood you have known  the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16  All Scripture  is  given by inspiration of God,  and  is  profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instr...

" ... h aving  boldness  to enter  the Holiest by the blood of Jesus" (Hebrews 10:19). What a contrast there is between the many animal  sacrifices made by the Old Testament priests and the single sacrifice of Himself made by our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ! --- Here's a link to a song that may help you to see,  more clearly, the difference  between the two:  Petra Enter In Music video 1995 - YouTube
