In all the social details of the division of the land, we must not lose
sight of its spiritual basis (Joshua 21:43-45). The important thing is
that God, and not man, receives the glory: "Do not rebel against the
Lord or against us by building an altar for yourselves, other than the
altar of the Lord your God" (Joshua 22:19). If God, and not man, is to
be exalted, there must be new birth (John 3:3,5-7). To the man who is
obsessed with his own problems - "My heart is in anguish within me ... "
(Psalm 55:4-5), God gives "the wings of a dove" (Psalm 55:6), to rise
to higher things.
God's Word is "a lamp to our feet and a light to our path." He has "wondrous things" to teach us as we pray "Open my eyes that I may see" (Psalm 119:105, 18, 11). "May God's blessing surround you each day, as you trust Him and walk in His way. May His presence within guard and keep you from sin, go in peace, go in joy, go in love." "Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your Name give glory, because of Your mercy and Your truth" (Psalm 115:1).
