Confession, Forgiveness, Cleansing

Psalm 51
David  confesses his sin. He prays for God's forgiveness. Confession and forgiveness - the two go together. We confess our sins. God forgives our sin. Forgiveness is God's gift. He gives his gift when we confess our sins to him - "God is faithful and reliable. If we confess our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we’ve done wrong! (1 John 1:9). When we confess our sins and receive God's forgiveness, we rejoice in this: "the blood of God's Son, Jesus, cleanses us from every sin" (1 John 1:7). We give thanks to God: His gift of forgiveness is not only for the beginning of our life of faith - "The vilest offender, who truly believes, that moment, from Jesus, a pardon receives." It's for the whole of our journey of faith. The blood of Jesus keeps on cleansing us from all sin.

May God's Blessing Surround You Each Day ...

God's Word is "a lamp to our feet and a light to our path." He has "wondrous things" to teach us as we pray "Open my eyes that I may see" (Psalm 119:105, 18, 11). "May God's blessing surround you each day, as you trust Him and walk in His way. May His presence within guard and keep you from sin, go in peace, go in joy, go in love." "Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your Name give glory, because of Your mercy and Your truth" (Psalm 115:1).

Wonderful Grace of Jesus

What happens to us, Lord, when we turn away from You?

2 Kings 17:1-41 What happens to us, Lord, when we turn away from You? Everything starts falling apart. It may seem like we’re getting on well – but there’s an “emptiness” (2 Kings 17:14) at the heart of everything that we do. Having Jesus as our Saviour – this is all that really matters. there’s nothing more important than this. Help us to keep on coming to Jesus, to keep on enjoying “the fullness of life” that He gives to us (John 10:10),
