In Proverbs 7, we are warned against the foolishness of going the way of
the world. In Proverbs 8, we hear the voice of wisdom, calling to us;
“Now, sons, listen to Me. Blessed are those who follow My ways”
(Proverbs 8:32). The call of wisdom continues in Proverbs 9. The call of
wisdom comes to us as the call of the Lord, who, from His Table, calls
us to His Supper: “Come, eat My bread, and drink the wine I have mixed”
(Proverbs 9:5).
