It's only words - or is it more than that?

It's only words! That's many people say when they hear words from the Bible. Is there anything behind the words? Perhaps, you're wondering, "Is there really a God? Is there really a Saviour?" Sometimes, we jump in with both feet - "Is there really a God?", and we soon find that we are in over our heads, completely out of our depth. We don't know where to look. We don't know where to turn. We " completely mixed up. Perhaps, beginning with Jesus - beginning with His words, gives us a more promising starting-point. We'll have specific words to read, to think about - to make us think about the question, "Is it only words? or Is there something behind the words, something real, Someone we can't ignore?" Here's something to start you off. Jesus said, "The words that I have spoken to you - they are full of the Spirit and life" (John 6:63). Responding to Jesus' words, Peter said, "Lord, ... You have the words of eternal life" (John 6:68). Don't be too quick to say, "It's only words." There may be more to it than that - a lot more!
