Let us bless the Lord ... and receive abundant blessing from Him.

"Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen" (Hebrews 13:20-21).

What wonderful words of blessing these are! When we consider how much the Lord has blessed us - and how much he will bless us, may we say, from our hearts, "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name" (Psalm 103:1). May we say, with hearts full of praise and thanksgiving, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 1:3). When we pay more attention to blessing the Lord rather than seeking blessing for ourselves, we will be blessed - not because we have made getting blessing for ourselves our chief priority, but because we are learning, by His grace, to bless His holy Name, giving Him all the glory for His greatest gift, the gift of our eternal salvation, given to us so graciously through His Son, our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
