What A Great Gospel! What A Great Saviour! What A Great Salvation! What A Great Future!

The Humbled and Exalted Christ

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and  that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:5-11).
It's a long time ago since the first time I studied these great verses from God's Word. I remember the sense of joyful praise to the Lord, which arose in my heart as I read and thought about what God is saying to us in these amazing words of God's grace. I remember writing the words, "What a Gospel!" What a great Saviour Jesus is! Can we even begin to take in all that God is saying to us here? - "Amazing love - How can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for all... 'Tis mystery all! The Immortal dies: who can explore His strange design ... No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him is mine! Alive in Him, my Living Head, and clothed in righteousness divine, bold I approach the eternal throne, and claim the crown through Christ, my own" (from Charles Wesley's great hymn, "And can it be that I should gain an interest in the Saviour's blood... " Mystery - this is much more than we can take in. Love - what we see here is love: the best love, the greatest love there's ever been, the greatest love there will ever be. We can hardly find words to describe what our Saviour has done for us. What a great Saviour He is, what a great salvation He has given to us and what a great future He has planned for us.

In this post, I've quoted from Charles Wesley's hymn, "And can it be ... " Here's a link to the words and tune:   And Can It Be - Stuart Townend [with lyrics] - YouTube.
If you watch the video, it will take you on to more songs of praise to the Lord - “The Power of the Cross”, “My hope is built on nothing less … “, “Bless the Lord, O my soul …  ” … and more! Watch, listen, sing along  - and be blessed!
