God's Salvation - Past, Present And Future

"To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen" (Revelation 1:5-7).
The book of Revelation directs our attention to the future - to our full enjoyment of God's salvation. It does not, however, forget the past. This is where our salvation comes from. It comes to us from "the Son of God who loved us and gave himself for us" (Galatians 2:20). We're no longer in the past. We're not yet in the future. Our life is in the present. Here-and-now, we enjoy God's salvation. God has given us "a foretaste of glory divine" (from the hymn, "Blessed assurance") - as we look forward "with joy inexpressible and full of glory" to "the end of our faith - the salvation of our souls" (1 Peter 1:8-9).
