The lost son, the found son, the rebellious son, the returning son- this is what we read about in Jesus' parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). We read about the long journey home - from the land of wandering to the land of welcome. As we think about the returning son's journey back to the place where he was always welcome, we may think of Jesus' words in John 14:2-3 - "My Father’s house has many rooms ... I am going there to prepare a place for you ... I will come back and take you to be with me ... " Jesus spoke these words to his first disciples. He speaks them, also, to us. Our journey may e long. Often, we may feel that we are losing our way - but Jesus assures us leading us home.Wherever we may be, as we travel, from place to place, in our journey through life, we may never forget this - Jesus is leading us to his eternal home, and it will be our eternal home. Hallelujah!
