Jesus tells us that he is “the light of the world” (John 8:12). He also tells us that we “are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). We are to let our light shine (Matthew 5:15). This is the way of bringing glory to God (Matthew 5:16). If we are to shine for Jesus,his light must, first, shine upon us. What is the light that shines upon us from Jesus? It is the light of “his glory.” It is “full of grace and truth “ (John 1:17). When the light of Jesus shines upon us, we are changed. From Jesus , we receive “abundant life” (John 10:10). May his light shine upon us, more and more - and may it shine out throus to more and more people.
