Where would we be without the Word of the Lord? - We would groping around in the darkness, looking for the light, but not finding it. Searching for the light, we get nowhere until the Lord shines his light upon us.
We come to him with this prayer: "Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law" (Psalm 119:18). He answers our prayer. He leads us out of the darkness. His Word brings light into our lives.
