Good News for this generation

"God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son ... " (Hebrews 1:1-2).

This is more than the prophets speaking about God. This is God, speaking through the prophets. The prophets looked forward to Jesus, God's beloved Son.
God speaks to us through Jesus.

"I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd" (John 10:14-16).

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, tells us that his sheep will hear his voice. How are we to hear his voice? How are we to listen to him? We listen to him when we pay attention to his words. These words were first spoken many years ago. They continue to be spoken to us today, when we read the Scriptures.

"But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:14-17).
In the Holy Scriptures, we read of Jesus Christ. We read of how he came to earth for us. He came to be our Saviour. As we read about how much he loves us. Out of love for us, he gave himself to die for us. This, however, was not the end of his story. He rose from the dead. His story is not only "an old, old story." It's the story of our salvation. It's "Good News for modern man." It's Good News for everyone of us.
"I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 3).
Jesus Christ is Good News for this generation. Let us be bold. Let us be strong. Let us stand up for Jesus. The world still needs him. Let us not fail the people who need him.Let us speak for him. Let us live for him.

May God's Blessing Surround You Each Day ...

God's Word is "a lamp to our feet and a light to our path." He has "wondrous things" to teach us as we pray "Open my eyes that I may see" (Psalm 119:105, 18, 11). "May God's blessing surround you each day, as you trust Him and walk in His way. May His presence within guard and keep you from sin, go in peace, go in joy, go in love." "Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your Name give glory, because of Your mercy and Your truth" (Psalm 115:1).

Wonderful Grace of Jesus

What happens to us, Lord, when we turn away from You?

2 Kings 17:1-41 What happens to us, Lord, when we turn away from You? Everything starts falling apart. It may seem like we’re getting on well – but there’s an “emptiness” (2 Kings 17:14) at the heart of everything that we do. Having Jesus as our Saviour – this is all that really matters. there’s nothing more important than this. Help us to keep on coming to Jesus, to keep on enjoying “the fullness of life” that He gives to us (John 10:10),
