Where are we going? ...

Where are we going?
We think about the future. We wonder where it will lead us.
Are we asking about the Lord - about being led by the Lord, about being guided by the Word of the Lord?
Without the Lord, future will be a wilderness - not knowing where we're going.
With God's Word shining its light into our  lives, everything changes.
We're not left in the dark. We're learning about how much he loves us. He's teaching us to love him.
In our journey through life, we can so easily be led astray - led away from the Lord.
We're told that we no longer need God - we can set aside God's Word.
What will our future be - if we listen to this kind of talk? Will our life be better? or Will it be empty - filled with plenty of things, but missing the most important thing: the blessing of God?
The world's voices are very loud. They threaten to drown out the voice of the Lord - the voice that speaks to us when we read the Word of the Lord.
Have we forgotten something? - the "still small voice" (1 Kings 19:12).
Fewer people may be listening for the voice of the Lord - but that doesn't mean that he's stopped speaking!
God is still speaking. He's looking for people who will listen to him.
Where are we going?
We don't know what the future holds for us - but there's one thing we can do: we can commit our future to the Lord - "lead me in the way everlasting" (Psalm 139:24).
